Abstract

A thorough understanding of the common causes of hip pain in athletes is important to make proper diagnostic and treatment decisions. The presentation of hip and groin pain in the athlete is complex and pain can be related to several different pathologies. Labral tears and FAI are increasingly recognized and treated in athletic populations with excellent improvements in symptoms and return to play.
