title = "High throughput probing of mechacal properties of cells",
abstract = "In a wide variety of diseases, mechanical properties of sick cells have been shown to be significantly different from those of healthy cells. However, present methods for assessing mechanical properties of cells are either very precise and slow or fast and inaccurate. Here we present a microfluidic based approach that provides information on cell size and stiffness with significantly higher throughputs than present approaches. The system is based on measurements of cell travel time thought a constriction. We show that travel time depends on cell diameter and cell stiffness and propose a new approach to a high throughput analysis of cell mechanics.",
