Abstract

A high performance computer system has been developed to provide quantitative data on the occurrence of PVC's in long ECG records. At present, analysis of a typical 10-hour ECG analog tape requires three passes: 1) digitization of the analog tape, 2) high speed scanning of the digital ECG tape, and 3) editing of the scanning results. An additional and very important benefit from the system is that it provides a practical means for rapid measurement of the statistical characteristics of PVC's in long ECG records and of the speed of various portions of the system itself in analyzing these records.
