Hematospermia Due to Giant Hemorrhagic Prostatic Utricle Cyst with Benign Mural Nodule

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Prostatic utricle cysts are median intraprostatic cysts and are an embryologic remnant of the Mullerian duct system. They are formed due to incomplete regression of Mullerian duct system. Small prostatic utricle cysts (< 10 mm) are fairly common with incidence of up to 5%; large prostatic utricle cysts are very rare. We present a case of a 25-year-old sexually active male having recurrent episodes of hematospermia for 2 months with giant hemorhagic prostatic utricle cyst with a benign mural nodule.
