Abstract

Conductometric melting curves of DNA and tRNA in saltless and low-salt solutions were recorded. The linear charge density of the polyion, mean distance between the charges along the polyion axis, and variations of these parameters in the course of thermal denaturation were calculated on the basis of the Manning and van't Hoff theory and compared with the experimental data.
