Forum Devised Futures

How might current research and artistic experiments point to possible futures for devised and ensemble-created theater? For this forum, Theater asked for short reflections from practitioners and scholars—some of whom double in both roles. Their responses include previously undocumented artistic practices, provocations for future training, and reconsiderations of the past to illuminate new ways forward. This forum can be read as a collaborative conversation of its own as contributors move between theory and practice, with attention to developing future makers and audiences for devised creation.—Eds.
