Fiber-coupled erbium microlasers on a chip

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Fiber-coupled erbium doped microlaser fabricated on a silicon chip was investigated. The microcavity laser was created by applying erbium-doped sol-gel films to the surface of a silica toroidal microresonator. Results showed single-line laser emission and threshold pump powers to be as low as 34 μW.
