    Abstract

    Exposure of the third and fourth portions of the duodenum is occasionally required during trauma or for resection of tumors or strictures. This chapter details the preoperative preparation, operative strategy of open and minimally invasive approaches, as well as the pitfalls, danger points and identification of complications. Step-by-step technical instructions, supplemented by operative photographs, are included. The chapter concludes with a list of selected references.
