Abstract
(Cell Metabolism 23, 852–866; May 10, 2016) In the preparation and publication of this article, one figure showing the efficacy of prolonged plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) depletion in BDCA2-DTR bone marrow (BM) reconstituted mice was omitted from the manuscript due to author oversight. To selectively deplete pDCs in our athero-prone mouse model, we lethally irradiated Ldlr−/− mice and reconstituted with BM cells of BDCA2-DTR mice. After 8 weeks, the reconstituted Ldlr−/− mice were fed Western-type diet (WD) and injected with PBS alone or with diphtheria toxin (DT) for the indicated time period as described in the original paper's Figure 4H. Reconstituted mice showed prolonged pDC depletion in spleen by DT injection for 12 weeks (see new Figures 1A and 1B). We also depleted pDCs from the reconstituted mice to test the role of pDCs in already-established atherosclerosis by feeding them WD for 12 weeks but injecting DT only for the last 6 weeks, and observed successful depletion of splenic pDCs (see new Figures 1C and 1D). This additional figure does not affect the conclusion of our paper, and we apologize for any inconvenience.[display
