note = "Funding Information: More equitable, diverse, and inclusive global oncology research must be sought and can be achieved across many domains and identities, not just country of origin. Achieving this will strengthen the discipline and ultimately lead to far greater impact for people affected by cancer worldwide. Measurable progress toward greater equity in global research collaborations has been achieved, for example in infectious diseases research funded by the National Institutes of Health Fogarty International Center, for which first and last authorship by African researchers for work supported in Africa has steadily and significantly increased over time. Such efforts will also strengthen local public health research capacity in LMICs, which proved important in the conduct of recent COVID‐19 and Ebola clinical trials. Funding agencies have important roles to play, and the current NCI Center for Global Health strategic plan embraces impact, equity, and collaboration as core values to guide the development of programs. By completing this large analysis, Rubagumya et al. provide an important baseline and create opportunities for the global cancer research community to acknowledge where we are and chart a path toward greater equity, diversity, and inclusion in our work going forward. 18 19,20 21 16 ",
