Abstract
Neurons are characterized by their electrical excitability and by their communication through chemical-to-electrical transmission. Therefore, electrophysiological techniques can verify a neuronal phenotype. Here, we will provide an overview of whole-cell patch clamping, a technique commonly used to document the electrical properties of differentiated neurons.
