Abstract

In this paper, the three-dimensional helicopter rotor inflow mode shapes have been studied based on eigen-analysis of the Peters-Morillo dynamic-inflow model. The inflow velocity mode shapes with node lines are presented for various skew angles. The eigenvalues are highly coupled-especially for higher skew angles-and the mode-shapes change dramatically for different angles. The variation of natural frequencies-for axial flow-with different harmonic numbers is also shown in the tables for the both Peters-He and the Peters-Morillo dynamic inflow models. An easy way to estimate the value of eigenvalues for the Peter-He inflow model is established.
