Abstract

Artificial and experimental data were used to study the effects of sampling resolution and measurement error on estimates of mean action potential duration (APD), std of APD, mean APD gradient, std of APD gradient, APD wavelength, and APD correlation length of canine right atria. It was found that large errors in estimates of recovery gradients, wavelengths, and correlation length can result from data collected at inadequate sampling intervals and adequate intervals may be 3-6 times less than the Nyquist intervals.
