    Abstract

Given the many well-documented benefits of creativity it is not surprising that attempts to teach creativity within formal Education systems are widespread. However numerous cultural and systematic barriers inhibit the teaching of creativity in schools and classrooms. Several models for teaching creativity have been developed all with their particular strengths and weaknesses and those models that address the cultural and systematic barriers tend to be associated with evidence of at least limited success.
