Abstract

Describes the geography, climate and vegetation of the Oriente (E Equador), and outlines inventory (intensive local survey), distribution and check list data to demonstrate the rich species diversity of the region. The 3000 species of flowering plants known from the Oriente include 1200 tree species. -S.J.Yates
