abstract = "Primary glioblastoma (GBM) cell lines can be derived from surgically resected patient tumor specimens. The main advantage of these lines is that they preserve the genetic, epigenetic, and metabolic features of the original tumor. These cell lines can be used for a variety of in vitro assays and orthotopically implanted into immunodeficient mice for in vivo experiments. We describe a method for isolation, maintenance, propagation, and in vivo injection of patient-derived GBM sphere cell lines.",
