Abstract

The HGF and TIGK cell lines were associated with the incorrect proliferation/toxicity graphs based on the MTS assay. The corrected Figure 8 (and description) is shown below. The t test statistical comparison of CeO2–NP-CSA to NaF treatment is now corrected with significance noted in TIGK. This correction does not impact discussions (or conclusions) of the published manuscript, as the majority of concentration comparisons were found nonsignificant in both cell lines, including at the high dose (2000 μM). The data in this manuscript is encompassed by non-provisional patent application (19/072,161) filed March 6, 2025, after the date of this publication. This application is an extension of U.S. patent 10,835,556, also encompassing the data in the manuscript. Page 4688: The biofilm dispersal assay was carried out over 2 h of treatment with CeO2–NP-CSA, not 10 min as incorrectly stated. The 2 h treatment is consistent with the description of this assay in the rest of the manuscript. Figure 8 Effect of CeO2-NP-CSA on proliferation/toxicity of (A) HGF and (B) TIGK over 48 h at concentrations up to 2000 μM metal ion. Using the Student t test, no statistical significance (*p < 0.05) could be found between CeO2-NP-CSA and NaF in human cell populations except at 1000 μM (TIGK only).
