The Argus/2H computer system analyzes 24-hour, dual-channel Holter-recorded electrocardiograms for the quantification of ventricular dysrhythmias. The system is an upgraded successor to a single-channel system, Argus/H which has processed several thousand Holter recordings since 1973. Most aspects of the Argus/2H analysis are automatic, but quality control and discretionary record documentation require some human interaction. Hard-copy and machine-readable summaries provide the researcher and clinician with details unavailable by conventional manual-scanning techniques. Modestly priced, the system is assembled in a configuration suitable for straightforward replication.
