Chest Emergencies in Pregnant Patients

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Pregnancy can cause hemodynamic changes that can result in signs and symptoms that can overlap with those of more serious entities. This overlap in clinical presentation renders clinical diagnosis at times difficult. Imaging is frequently utilized in pregnant patients to help provide clues to the diagnosis of these emergent conditions and help guide management. It is imperative that the radiologist be familiar with these entities, as many of them can be life-threatening.
