Abstract

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), one of the most common diseases of men, can lead to bladder outlet obstruction. Progressive BPH manifests as bothersome lower urinary tract symptoms. Current therapeutic options for BPH include active surveillance; medical therapy; and minimally invasive therapies, such as transurethral microwave therapy, transurethral needle ablation, laser therapies, and botulinum toxin injection.
