Abstract
The rising demand for autologous breast reconstruction presents challenges for patients with primary hypercoagulability disorders due to their elevated thrombotic risks. In this article, we reviewed 13 patients who underwent 23 free flap breast reconstructions from 1998 to 2023 with various anticoagulation regimens. Results showed a flap loss rate of 4%, with additional intraoperative and postoperative anticoagulation potentially reducing thrombotic complications. The data concludes that autologous breast reconstruction in hypercoagulable patients is reliable with careful anticoagulation management.
