Abstract
An iterative estimation algorithm has been developed that makes it possible to estimate stimulus-dependent and discharge-history-dependent factors of R. P. Gaumond's multiplicative-intensity model from the same data set. Preliminary results of the authors' analysis of cat data collected by Gaumond are presented and discussed, and the design of a practical laboratory system for applying the new estimation techniques is briefly summarized.
