note = "Funding Information: Desmoid tumor research is changing how desmoid tumors are managed with the prospective documentation that growing desmoid tumors spontaneously regress one third of the time. Patient partnership through the Desmoid Research Tumor Foundation and In this issue of Clinical Cancer Research, Colombo and colleagues (1), Nathenson and colleagues (2), and Penel and colleagues (3) present a trio of transformative papers on desmoid tumor mutation status and treatment. This new prospective observational clinical data along with molecular characterization is once again changing how we view and treat desmoid tumors. For 17 years, the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF) has supported desmoid tumor patients, advocated for patient-centered research and funded research grants. The pieces are finally starting to come together on who to treat and when due to patient advocacy, funding and the current research that is changing our understanding of how to approach patient care (Fig. 1).
