Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) refers to a group of disorders in which placental tissue abnormally adheres to the uterine myometrium and invades into the surrounding structures. PAS is becoming increasingly common complication in pregnancy around the world and is closely associated with massive hemorrhage and a common indication for peripartum hysterectomy. This chapter describes anesthetic and obstetric management for early assessment and diagnosis of PAS and coordinated multidisciplinary team approach to minimize adverse outcomes of both mother and fetus.
