Abstract
From the earliest division of cells involved with reproduction and development of the early fetus, the fragility of life is apparent. At this stage, the cells are sensitive to subtle changes in internal and external environments. As a consequence, the anesthetic and analgesic exposure and management of women undergoing surgery for assisted reproduction and during the first trimester are of particular importance.
