Abstract
An inclusion complex of a pyrazole phenyl ether herbicide and β-cyclodextrin was prepared to investigate the effect of complex formation on herbicide activity. The usual methods of characterization (elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, solution NMR) failed to show unequivocally that a 1:1 inclusion complex had formed. Analysis of relaxation times in CPMAS 13C NMR spectra of the solid complex demonstrated that it was a true inclusion complex.
