Abstract
Because of its low-cost, easy accessibility, and great flexibility, ultrasonography was introduced as an alternative noninvasive means for detection of shoulder pathology, in particular, for detection of rotator cuff abnormalities. This review concentrates on the relevant musculoskeletal anatomy, examination technique, normal sonographic anatomy, and the sonographic findings of rotator cuff tears and biceps tendon pathology.
