Abstract

To the Editor: Aside from the statement that the T11 vertebral lesion was “biopsy-proved eosinophilic granuloma,” Ringdén et al. (March 19 issue)1 offered no other information about the diagnostic characteristics of the histiocytes. Their report on the successful allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in a young man with multisystem histiocytosis X (Langerhans cell histiocytosis) is an important contribution; that reason alone would seem to warrant a thorough documentation of the pathological findings even in a relatively abbreviated study of this type.
