Abstract
Fatal Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a rare but mortal complication in pediatric patients with leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). This paper reports a sudden and fatal hypoxaemia and cardiovascular collapse, commented as PE, in a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and MDS during a splenectomy under general anesthesia.
