A microscope for observing intracellular transport with molecular resolution on molecular timescales

Abstract

We demonstrate an optical microscope that localizes gold nanoparticles to under 1nm in 10µs with illumination conditions compatible with live cell imaging. This enables molecular-scale measurements of molecular motor dynamics in intracellular transport.
