Abstract

A simple technique for the rapid construction of a compensating filter for chest portals is described. The method consists of stacking plastic sheets of different lengths, one on top of the other, mounted on a holder which attaches to the treatment machine. The filter is relatively inexpensive and can be assembled easily and quickly. Upon completion of therapy, the filter is dismantled and the plastic sheets returned to the precut set where they may be reused.
