Abstract

Two of the recently developed numerical schemes for the solution of the Euler equations, namely the Advection Upwind Split Method (AUSM) and the Wave/Particle Splitting (WPS) method are applied to numerically solve one-dimensional compressible ideal Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations. The relative accuracy and efficiency of the schemes are compared by computing a number of Euler and MHD flows. The results are also compared with other well-known schemes such as van Leer and Roe.
