Abstract

Perfusion of the microvasculature is essential for the health of tissue and plays important roles in medical therapies such as tissue engineering and implantable biosensors. Motivated by these applications, principles regulating the interactions of the microvasculature and biomaterials are summarized and illustrated in case studies.
