Abstract
Prazosin, a putative α1-noradrenergic antagonist, reduced nuclear estrogen receptor levels in the hypothalamus and preoptic area of the estrogen-primed guinea pig. Noradrenergic transmission may alter steroid-dependent processes and neuroendocrine function through actions on steroid-concentrating cells.
