Our lab develops novel therapeutic approaches to the treatment of pancreatic cancer. One project aims to create a DNA vaccine against pancreatic cancer with special emphasis on our ability to translate our discoveries into clinical trials. In addition to the vaccines we also work on ways to augment the effects of the vaccinations by modulating the immune system using chemotherapy and biologic agents. We also have developed novel therapeutics which are selective for pancreas cancer and which restore the cancers cells ability to undergo cell death (Apoptosis). All work is done with emphasis on early stage (phase I) clinical trials.
