Hemodialysis (HD) is the backbone of life sustaining treatment for patients with End Stage Renal Disease(ESRD). Delivery of dialysis is dependent on vascular access which is a conduit used for obtaining the blood necessary for the machine for cleansing. Creating and maintaining a well functioning vascular access is a major clinical problem. My research interest is focused around identifying the causative agents and management of problems leading to failure associated with vascular access. I have been working on this problem and established a multidisciplinary group comprising of interventional radiologist, radiological imaging experts, expert engineers involved with computational fluid dynamic evaluations and surgeons involved in creating and maintaining the vascular access to trouble shoot this problem.
