    Personal profile

    Research interests

We have found that depression increases the risk for medical morbidity and mortality in patients with coronary heart disease. Our research now focuses on identifying the biological and behavioral pathways that underlie this risk. We also are investigating whether specific treatments for depression can reduce this risk or affect the putative mechanisms.
