Dr. Brunner’s primary research goals are directed towards understanding the large-scale cortical electrophysiology that governs uniquely human behavior and cognition. The long-term goal of his research is to develop this understanding into devices that interact with these signals and thereby realize entirely new diagnostic or treatment options for people affected by nervous system injury or disease. To pursue this goal, his research spans the entire range from basic research, technology development, and translational research to clinical dissemination and commercialization.
