Dr. Sweitzer’s research interest include human studies of all aspects of heart failure, including cardiovascular clinical trials, , novel therapeutics in heart failure, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, improving quality of cardiovascular care, improving disparities in cardiovascular care, cognitive dysfunction in cardiovascular diseases.

Heart failure and cardiomyopathies, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.
