Research interests

My lab investigates macrophage dysfunction in obesity and diabetes. In particular, we have been dissecting the role of resident and recruited myeloid cells in the liver during the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease using a variety of in vivo and ex vivo approaches. We have also been working with human livers to translate our findings to patients.

Clinical interests

outpatient and inpatients management of congestive heart failure, pre- and post-heart transplant care, advanced heart failure, heart failure in diabetic patients

Mentoring

My lab is fully committed to providing a environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and tolerance.  I seek to have individuals that represent diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
