    Personal profile

    Research interests

My lab studies higher perception and cognition, in particular event understanding and spatial cognition. We use a combination of functional neuroimaging, behavioral studies in healthy young adults, older adults, and neurological patients, and computational modeling.

    Mentoring

My laboratory and I stand firmly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As Associate Chair of P&BS I organized a symposium on Diversity Science and chaired a search committee to hire two faculty in Diversity Science. As Chair of the Board of Scientific Affairs for the American Psychological Association (APA) I helped forward an initiative to improve inclusion in scientific publication. I also served on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force for APA. I currently serve on the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility committee for the Federation of Associations in the Behavioral and Brain Sciences.
