Research interests

My research uses Department of Veterans' Affairs national healthcare databases for the study of rare adverse drug events. Our research group utilizes data from several data sources to examine risk of, risk factors for, cost of, and outcomes of rare adverse drug events. Outcomes of interest include infections among patients receiving immunosuppressive drugs, adverse events caused by bisphosphonates, and drug-drug interactions. Other research interests include infections after combat polytrauma in military personnel, osteomyelitis, infective endocarditis, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea and other nosocomial infections.
