    Research interests

    My main research interest is studying racial differences (particularly African American) in the severity, diagnosis, efficacy of treatment and phenotype of disease in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I am currently working on a retrospective study with a database of our Crohn's patients to determine if there are any differences in the population, and then aim to focus on a prospective study to delineate the mechanisms of those differences. I ultimately want to be able to treat minority populations of IBD more effectively.
