My research is focused on the interaction between work and health. This includes studies of the epidemiology and prevention of work-related injuries and musculoskeletal disorders, and the role of the work environment in mental health, substance use, and other health behaviors. Current descriptive studies include investigation of workplace physical demands and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, determinants of mental health during the pandemic, and work factors that influence diet and exercise. Current intervention studies include leadership training of supervisors to improve safety behaviors, efforts to reduce suicide and improve mental health among high risk worker groups, and other worksite based health promotion.
Occupational diseases, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome, chemical exposures
