Research interests
The focus of my research is on measuring postural alignment and movement characteristics of individuals with back pain. An overall goal is to examine the utility of measurements obtained with laboratory instruments for characterizing differences between individuals with and those without back pain, as well as differentiating among patients with different types of back pain. The current objective is to develop metrics derived from MR imaging studies that can be used to validate clinical observations, potentially elucidate mechanisms of low back pain in specific subgroups, and provide a basis for targeted interventions that can be provided by physical therapists.
