Research interests

Our lab investigates the accelerated atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetic patients, with a focus on vitamin D deficiency as a contributor to this increased risk. We are using animal models and clinical trials to study the effects of vitamin D replacement on cardiovascular disease and its risk factors, as well as the cellular mechanisms that underlie these effects.
