I am internventional cardiologist with a strong interest in valvular heart disease and catheter based therapies for these problems. I encounter patients in a specialized valve clinic that where patients with complex valvular disease are evaluated for the best treatment option available (surgical vs. catheter based vs. medical therapy). I actively participate in an FDA sponsored trial that evaluates the role of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in patients with severe aortic stenosis who have an elevated surgical risk. In addition I am interested in the development of aortic stenosis and the potential genetic components of this disease.
